Pipe bursting is a trenchless sewer replacement method that lets us replace underground pipes without digging long trenches. Here’s how it works:
We dig two small access holes at either end of the sewer line.
A cable is fed through the old pipe.
A bursting head (attached to a new pipe) is pulled through the old line.
The bursting head breaks apart the old pipe while simultaneously pulling the new pipe into place.
Even cast iron and clay pipes can be replaced with this method.
